Hrithik Roshan hopes 'Dhoom 3' breaks 'Krrish 3' box office record

Hrithik Roshan thinks records are meant to be broken and every time a film sets a new milestone, it means evolution of cinema.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, whose latest release Krrish 3 has crossed the Rs.200 crore mark at the worldwide box office, does not believe in breaking or setting new records.

He feels box office figures reflect the progress of cinema and hopes the "Krrish 3" record is broken by forthcoming films like Dhoom 3.

"Records, these are all facts and figures, which are essential to define the progress of cinema or any other mode of work. So it's not about breaking records, it's about being inspired by the previous records and then taking it forward," Hrithik Roshan told reporters Thursday at the launch of the new collection of Rado watches.

Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, "Krrish 3" released Nov 1 and entered the Rs.100 crore club in four days.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "Krrish 3" has raked in Rs.166.52 crore at the domestic box office and minted Rs.36 crore in its first week overseas, taking the overall collections to Rs.202.42 crore.

"I hope and I pray to god that the next one that comes after 'Krrish 3' breaks its record and that is evolution, that is progress. Keep breaking the records. Go for 'Krrish 3' now and then go for 'Dhoom 3' in sometime," said the actor who played a major role in "Dhoom 2"

Fans vote 'Dhoom 3' as the most awaited film of 2013

'DHOOM 3' MOST AWAITED

It’s the viewers and fans who make or break a film at the box office. It’s their say that puts the careers on an upward or downward slide. ApunKaChoice asked its readers to vote for the most awaited film for the remaining months of 2013 and Dhoom 3 emerged as the most favourite.

Not for nothing did the trailer of Dhoom 3 notch up 4 million views in under six days. The film, starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra has caught everyone’s fancy for its theme. With Aamir Khan playing a magician, trickster and robber all rolled into one, and with Katrina Kaif playing an acrobatic femme fatale, Dhoom 3 looks like a slamdunk blockbuster of the year.

The fans too have given it their stamp of approval in the new ApunKaChoice poll. Dhoom 3 got 47 percent of the total 1003 votes cast.

Movie snippets: Aishwarya excited about 'Dhoom 3', Priyanka scores double bonanza

ASH LOOKING FORWARD TO 'DHOOM 3'

What’s got Aishwarya Rai excited? What’s the double bonanza Priyanka Chopra has scored? And what’s Sonam Kapoor searching for nowadays? All in the movie snippets ahead.

Actress Aishwarya Rai, who sported a grunge look and perfect figure in the hit action-thriller Dhoom 2, praised the promo of Dhoom 3 saying it is looking "fabulous" and that she is looking forward to the release of the film.

" 'Dhoom 3' promo is looking fabulous. It's a franchise that all of us have enjoyed. It looks like it's going to be fun and I am definitely looking forward to 'Dhoom 3'," the actress told reporters here.

Aishwarya Rai was paired with Hrithik Roshan in “Dhoom 2” while “Dhoom 3” features Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif among others.

When asked about her comeback plans, she said: "Films are not made overnight. The fate of the film is decided in two to three hours but filmmaking takes time. I am looking forward, but things takes take time and for that, I would apologise to my fans."

Katrina Kaif conspicuously missing from 'Dhoom 3' trailer launch
The trailer of Dhoom 3 was launched in Mumbai on Wednesday and though the film’s leading actors Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan added star power to the event, leading lady Katrina Kaif was conspicuously missing.

There’s been a rumour that it was Aamir Khan who told Katrina Kaif to stay away from the trailer launch, but we at ApunKaChoice don’t buy it. Aamir the talented superstar isn’t the one to feel insecure, even though he’s quite open to interesting marketing gimmicks for his films (remember how he shaved the heads of volunteers preceding the release of his Ghajini?).

The fact, as we have already informed you before, is that Katrina Kaif is too tied up with the shoot of director Kabir Khan’s film Phantom in Beirut, Lebanon (catch the photos here).

A source says, “Katrina can’t just leave the shoot and fly back to Mumbai even for a day to launch the trailer of Dhoom 3. The shoot of Phantom is in full flow and Katrina’s absence will throw things out of gear.”

Though Katrina Kaif was surely missed at the trailer launch on Wednesday, Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan did a swell job of presenting the film’s trailer to the world.

Aamir told the mediapersons that his role in Dhoom 3 is toughest he’s played to date. Abhishek, who had his arm in a sling after an elbow injury, joked “Mard ko dard nahin hota,”

Mard ko dard nahi hota: Abhishek Bachchan on his injury

A torn tendon in his elbow isn’t giving Abhishek Bachchan gyp. You know why?

Actor Abhishek Bachchan injured his left elbow, but says he does not have any pain.

He came for the trailer launch of Dhoom 3 and when asked about his injury, he quoted a famous line from dad Amitabh Bachchan's film and said: "I have torn my tendon in my elbow. I am absolutely fine. Mard ko dard nahi hota."

The actor injured himself while working out Monday. But the 37-year-old has not taken any break from working gyming sessions.

Aamir Khan calls 'Dhoom 3' the toughest film of his career

In his illustrious career, Aamir Khan has taken on a lot of challenges, but nothing has been as daunting as his role in Dhoom 3, says he.

Aamir Khan, who has played a variety of roles in his 25-year-old career, says Dhoom 3 is his toughest role so far.

In the last couple of years, the 48-year-old star gave hits in the form of Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 3 Idiots and his role in each of them was as different as chalk to cheese.

But he said: "I think 'Dhoom 3' is my toughest role so far. I have never played anything like this before."

"Every film is challenging, but this was a tough role. I had a great time working in the film," Aamir told reporters Wednesday at the trailer launch of the film.

In terms of preparation, the actor had to workout a lot for "Dhoom 3".

"I am playing a gymnast in the film. I also went for circus training for the film. There was a lot of hard work for the film. I followed a strict diet."

The actor plays a negative role in director Vijay Krishna Acharya's sleek and stylish thriller -- but says not to compare it with the typical villain of the big screen.

"I liked the story and I was amazed after reading the script. I am not playing a typical Hindi cinema villain in 'Dhoom 3'. I don't want people to feel I am playing a villain," said Aamir Khan.

Abhishek Bachchan, his co-star in the film, was also present at the event.

"'Dhoom 3' is much more edgier. I wouldn't call Aamir villain of the film," said Abhishek who featured in the earlier two parts of Dhoom that started in 2004.
